What: Come out to this week's "Bar Review" on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6 (NOT Thursday!). This week BU School of Law will be co-hosting, along with several other law schools in the Boston area (including BC, Suffolk, Harvard), our second annual inter-law school mixer! Come out and meet some new people and hang out with old! Appetizers will be provided. See everyone there!

2) Last CAC Meeting of the Year!

What: This will be the last CAC Meeting of the year! At this meeting we will be going over the New Student Group policy and will be eager to hear any comments or concerns on this new policy that will be rolling out in the Fall. Also, this meeting we will be introducing the new SGA board, so come say hi to the new members of SGA for next year! Food will be provided.

5) Proctors Needed!

When: From Monday, April 04, 2016, 11:00 AM to Friday, April 15, 2016, 5:00 PM
Where: BUSL; RM 1005
What: JD Students needed to proctor Banking Law exams on April 22, 25, 27and 29, May 2, 4 and 6. Most exams are from 2-6 pm. The exam on Friday, May 6 is from 9:30 – 1:30. Pay is $11.50 per hour. Please contact the Graduate Program in Banking and Financial Law at banklaw@bu.edu or stop by our office in room 1005.

6) Lawyers Have Heart 5K

When: From Tuesday, April 05, 2016, 9:00 AM to Friday, April 22, 2016, 5:00 PM
Where: Blue Hills Bank Pavilion (start & finish area)
What: Join the Boston University School of Law team at the Lawyers Have Heart 5K. The team is open to all alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of BU Law. You can run or walk the 5K or choose to attend only the summer celebration. Proceeds from the race benefit the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. $65 registration fee includes race entry with finisher medal & post race summer celebration with a barbecue, 2 beer tickets, and live music (participants who fundraise $100 in addition to their entry fee will receive a race t-shirt) $40 admission tickets for the summer celebration only are also available. Event Schedule: 6:00 - 7:00pm - Registration 7:00 - 8:00pm - 5K Road Race 7:30 - 9:30pm - Post-Race Summer Celebration For more information, registration, and donations, go to http://lhh2016.kintera.org/ Click "Register Here" then "Join a Team" and search for the "Boston University School of Law" team. 7) NALSA Elections

Where: BUSL; RM 203
What: The Native American Law Students Association will be holding elections for the 2016-17 academic year on Tuesday April 5 at noon in room 203. NALSA plans the annual Thanksgiving meal at the law school, in addition to providing speakers on Native American law topics. We welcome and and all students, who wish to participate. 8) NLG- Leadership Council Organizational Meeting

Where: Room 203
What: The new BU Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild will be holding a meeting for all people interested in being on the leadership council for next year. Everyone who is interested should attend this organizational meeting. If you cannot make it, please email us! About the NLG: The NLG is dedicated to the need for basic change in the structure of our political and economic system. Our aim is to bring together all those who recognize the importance of safeguarding and extending the rights of workers, women, LGBTQ people, farmers, people with disabilities and people of color, upon whom the welfare of the entire nation depends; who seek actively to eliminate racism; who work to maintain and protect our civil rights and liberties in the face of persistent attacks upon them; and who look upon the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression. To meet these goals, we will host street law clinic trainings and help with clinics in Boston, attend RebLaw, and organize various activities to engage the BU community.

9) Community Justice Activism Event

When: Saturday, April 09, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Where: Howard Thurman Center in the George Sherman Union (Basement Floor), 775 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA
What: Help empower, support, and connect with underrepresented people in the Boston community! The Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice is hosting an event where trios with an activist, student and resident work together to identify issues experienced by communities of color in Boston. After engaging in a listening session with the residents to learn about the injustices they face in their community, the three of you will work together to research programs/policies/organizations working to mitigate these issues. A write-up your trio creates will provide information that will be featured on our upcoming website, which will help connect activists around the world! We will end the event with free, local food, a debriefing, and an open mic. Anyone who wants to perform that day CAN and is ENCOURAGED - singing, dancing, spoken word, show-casing art, whatever! 10) 2016 BU Law 5k Ambulance Chase Race!

Where: Boston University School of Law
What: Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 6! $12 for each member of a BU Law team (3-5 members, top 3 times count); $15 for each BU Law individual; and $20 for alums, family and friends. Includes: race number, free raffle entry, and an official race t-shirt* *first 100 people to register are guaranteed a t-shirt. What: Want to do away with your winter wardrobe? Get a jump start to your spring cleaning! All clothing donations will benefit the Waltham House, which provides supports to homeless transgender and gender noncomforming individuals. 13) Debating Heller: The Second Amendment as an Individual Right

What: Join the Federalist Society for our major end-of-the-year capstone debate! Professor Nelson Lund from George Mason School of Law will debate our very own Professor Jim Fleming over the following proposition: whether the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms? Especially in light of Justice Scalia's passing, the Heller holding may be up in the air and is always the subject of a fascinating debate. We will be serving FREE OTTO'S PIZZA! All positions are open to rising 2Ls and rising 3Ls.
