1) Save the Date: Boat Cruise 2016!

When: From Monday, September 05, 2016, 1:00 PM to Friday, September 09, 2016, 5:00 PM
Where: Boston Harbor
What: This year's first SGA hosted event will be held on September 17, 2016 beginning at 6:30pm. There will be music, light appetizers, and, most importantly, drink tickets!! Tickets will go on sale this Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Please note that each law student is allowed one (1) guest. Tickets for this event have historically sold out and tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.

2) Reminder: Student Group Training

When: Wednesday, September 07, 2016 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
Where: TBD
What: Student group Presidents and Treasurers, this is a reminder that there is a MANDATORY student organization training this Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 1:00pm, location will be sent tomorrow in an email. Please note that if you cannot attend this training you will need to email SGA. Also, if you are a student group leader (President or Co-President) and have not given your email information to Jill Collins please do so as soon as possible so that SGA can communicate with you about important dates and trainings.

3) Community Affair Council (CAC) Meeting

Who: Student Government Association
When: Thursday, September 08, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Where: BUSL; Room 214
What: We encourage all law students to attend CAC Meetings as they are forums in which you may express your concerns and raise issues to the SGA Council who can they relay these concerns and issues to the appropriate administrative department to resolve the issue. We specifically encourage 1Ls, students interested in forming new groups, and current student leaders to attend this first CAC Meeting as we will be handing out the 1L SGA Election forms and reviewing the SGA 1L Representative position and the election process. In addition, we will be covering the new group policy, which will affect current student group leaders and thus why they are encouraged to attend. There will be food! See everyone on Thursday!

6) SGA Boat Cruise 2016!

Where: Boston Seaport
What: The first SGA hosted event of the year is only a few short days away! This year's Boat Cruise promises to be bigger and better than ever and tickets are nearly sold out, so if you haven't purchased a ticket yet don't wait until the last minute and ending up missing out!! Boat Cruise promises to be an amazing time as we cruise around Boston Bay dancing the night away! More information regarding check-in, dress code, and other event specific information will be sent in an email closer to the date of the event.

7) Coffee and BU: Bike Safety

Where: McCausland Commons Lounge
What: Come enjoy free coffee, courtesy of Dean O'Rourke, and get resources on safe biking at BU (https://www.bu.edu/bikesafety/). Information on registering your bike, Bike Safety Day (Sept. 15), bike maintenance in Boston, and free swag will be available throughout the morning. Members of the Student Affairs team will be there to say hello and answer questions as well.

17) The Dakota Access Pipeline (hosted by NALSA)

What: Native American Law Students Association is hosting a discussion regarding the recent court decision in the Dakota Access Pipeline case. Join us for a discussion of the protests against the Pipeline and the role of the Judicial and Executive branches in the current litigation. The discussion will be led by our very own Professor Wexler and Professor Beermann.

What: Join the Lawyers Christian Fellowship for our kickoff weekly Bible Study! Take a break from studying and enjoy fellowship, snacks, and a scripture study! Everyone, of all faith backgrounds, is welcome. No prior knowledge of the Bible is needed. We will be studying 1 John. Copies of the passage will be provided. Just bring yourself :-)

21) If/When/How presents: Sex Trivia!

Where: The Dugout
What: If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice is proud to host our annual Sex Trivia event! We will be going to the Dugout (a small bar across the street from BU Law) after school for a friendly and lively competition about all things sex. Come show off your knowledge, and maybe learn something new! Great prizes will also be awarded. All are welcome. Meet us in the atrium at 4:15 and we will all walk over together.
