(top)
When: From Monday, December 05, 2016, 9:00 AM to Monday, December 19, 2016, 9:00 AM
Where: TBD
What: The volunteer CPP is an opportunity for JD and LLM students to meet an hour a week on their own time and work on conversational skills. The emphasis of the program is conversational English for non-native English speakers, while also providing students with an opportunity to meet with those from another country and work on their cultural competency skills. Cultural competency is especially important in the growing international legal world, and these meet-ups provide students from all different cultural backgrounds an opportunity to meet one-on-one with someone from a different country and learn about their culture. It is not a requirement for JD students to speak another language or want to learn another language in order to participate as a volunteer (you can work solely in English if you want). If you are interested, please answer this survey for pairing eligibility: https://goo.gl/forms/4Ya31akmoBYgnN0L2. We cannot guarantee a partner, but we hope to pair as many JD/LLMs as possible! Please note that partners are expected to meet a minimum of 1-hour a week. If this is not a commitment you can make, please do not send in this form.
