Where: Royal Sonesta Hotel, 40 Edwin H Land Blvd, Cambridge, MA 02142
What: Tickets are now on sale for this year's Law Prom - Casino Royale at the Royal Sonesta. The event will be on Saturday, March 18 at 8:00 PM. Come out and enjoy a night of glamour with your fellow students to celebrate the year. Tickets will sell out quickly, so be sure to get your tickets early!! 2) Post-Dodgeball Tournament Bar Review at Beehive!

Where: The Beehive, 541 Tremont St Boston, MA 02116
What: Come continue the fun of CESLA and the Charitable Society's Dodgeball Tournament by celebrating with friends at The Beehive, voted one of the Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World by Downbeat Magazine! This quaint South End favorite is known for its unique cocktails, delicious American modern fare and nightly live music. This week, the Beehive will be celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day with Harpoon Brewery, Authentic Irish Cuisine and Live Entertainment by Irish Singer/Songwriter Katie McD and her friends. The event is going to be very popular, so we recommend arriving early around 8 or 8:30 to guarantee that you won't have to wait in line! We hope to see you all there!

3) Needed: Volunteers to Serve on Student Panels for Admitted Students Day!

Where: TBD
What: We are looking for students to serve on panels during Admitted Students Day. The panels will take place from 1:50-2:30 PM on Friday, March 24 and Friday, March 31. Each panel will consist of 4-5 students! Anyone who is interested should email Malavika Lobo at mlobo@bu.edu with your name, class year, any student groups you may be a part of, and your availability.

4) Trip to MoFA and Drink-Ticketed Bar Review at Sunset Cantina!

When: From Thursday, March 23, 2017, 6:00 PM to Friday, March 24, 2017, 2:00 AM
Where: Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave and Sunset Cantina, 916 Commonwealth Ave
What: BU Law is taking a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday, March 23! We will gather in the Atrium at 6PM and head to the museum – our student passes give us free admission, so please bring your BU ID with you! The museum is open until 10PM on Thursdays, so feel free to stay as long as you like! Afterwards, our weekly bar review will take place at Sunset Cantina (916 Comm Ave) starting at 9PM. Drink tickets, chips and salsa, and spinach and artichoke dip will be provided! We hope to see you all at one (or hopefully, both!) of these events!

6) The Habeas Petition: A Practical Overview

When: Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4:10 PM to 5:10 PM
Where: Room 212
What: This presentation will provide a basic overview of the "habeas petition." The event is geared toward giving students a general understanding of what the habeas petition looks like, its elements, and its basic function. This overview will be helpful particularly for students who will be interning with federal judges this summer because interns will be working extensively with habeas filings. There will be supplements as well for students interested in how habeas petitions are used in immigration matters. This event is open to all at BU!    Brandon Winer (2L) will be the presenter for the evening. Brandon worked with the Federal Public Defender's Office for 5 years prior to law school. Professor Yackle, along with immigration attorneys, have provided additional materials that will be distributed at the event.

7) Meet The Firms

Where: George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall
What: CDO and APALSA will be holding its 13th Annual Meet the Firms Event on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Please save the date! This annual event introduces BU Law students to members of the Boston legal community and serves as an opportunity for attorneys to showcase their firms. Students attend a moderated Q&A session with volunteer attorney panelists and then attend a networking reception where they can meet firm representatives and gather informational materials. This year APALSA is coordinating with the Career Development Office, making this BU Law’s primary event for firms to meet our 1L class.

10) ABA Class Visits 3/20-3/21

When: From Monday, March 20, 2017, 12:00 PM to Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 10:00 PM
Where: 765 Commonwealth Ave
What: Members of the ABA Law School Accreditation team will be visiting classes on Monday, March 20th and Tuesday, March 21st. Team members will try to create as little disruption as possible. Please realize that an early departure from a class is no reflection on what is happening in the classroom, but merely a function of their compact schedule.

12) 2017 Transactional Law Conference

What: The conference brings together diverse transactional law practitioners in order to introduce students to emerging issues and career opportunities within this field. It provides numerous networking opportunities and a great learning experience to all those who attend. The two featured panels are Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets & Securities.

14) Critical Conversations: Political Identity
