Where: SGA Office
What: The SGA is holding elections for 1L, LLM Representatives (one from each section and one from each of the Banking and American Law LLM programs), and Treasurer (only 2Ls and 3Ls may run for Treasurer). Nomination forms are due today at 4pm at the SGA office. Elections will take place online on Wednesday, September 13. Your SGA needs you - consider running today! 3) Apple Picking

When: From Friday, September 15, 2017, 1:00 AM to Friday, September 29, 2017, 1:00 AM
Where: Honey Pot Hill Orchards
What: Our annual apple picking event is here!Tickets are $12 per student and $17 per guest and include: the bus ride to and from Honey Pot Hill Orchards, a 1/2 peck picking bag for you to fill while you pick (one bag holds approx. 10-12 apples), entrance to the Orchard's Mini-Green Monster Hedge Maze, a hayride, a plain caramel apple, a cider donut AND a 16 oz. Apple Cider Guzzler! Buses will board at 2:15 PM outside the law school and will leave promptly at 2:30 PM for Honey Pot Hill Orchards. We will depart from Honey Pot Hill Orchards at 5:30 PM and will arrive back at the law school at approximately 6:30 PM. What: Get excited for BU Law's Annual Harbor Cruise! The event will take place on September 16, 2016 at 6:45 p.m, ticket collection starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are sold online through Eventbrite. Where: A4cade Bar (enter through Roxy's - 292 Mass Ave)
What: Come grab some friends, some grilled cheese, a drink, and maybe even some game tokens! You can get to A4cade bar the following ways: (1) the 47 bus, which leaves right by school; (2) the 64 bus, which leaves from Brighton AND Allston; (3) the 1 bus, which leaves from Kenmore; or (4) the red line. Why is Bar Review on a Friday? In order to accommodate those who have class or work on Fridays, we will be alternating between Thursday and Friday Bar Review.

11) Project Citizenship: facilitating immigration and naturalization

When: Monday, September 11, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Where: Room 103
What: BU Law and Project Citizenship come together to train students on the US citizenship application process. Then, on September 23rd, we'll join lawyers and volunteers from across the state at the Reggie Lewis Track Center to help hundreds of people through the citizenship process. Learn some of the nuts-and-bolts of the immigration process, and contribute to the successful implementation for our newest citizens. Sponsored by the Pro Bono Program and the Student Affairs Office.

16) DACA Phone-a-thon

What: Open to all in the BU Law Community: After the recent decision regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals initiative (DACA) several student affinity groups wanted to provide a space for those in the law school community to take action, and encourage elected representatives, state AGs, and other organizations to work together to protect Dreamers. Please bring your laptop and/or cellphones. We will be helping people figure out who their elected representatives are, how to call/fax/reach out to the people and organizations that will have an effect on policy creation going forward, and provide an outlet to show solidarity for those who will be adversely impacted by the DACA decision. We will provide a document of resources for outreach upon request. We encourage everyone to stop by for however long they can to participate.

17) BU Law Teach-In: DACA Rescission - Understand and Engage

18) International Refugee Assistance Project Info Session

When: Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Where: Room 204
What: The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) organizes law students and attorneys to provide legal representation to refugees seeking resettlement. As volunteers, students have the opportunity to participate in one of three different programs within IRAP. Students assigned to cases, directly represent refugees in their applications for resettlement to the United States, under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Students participating in the intake program, conduct intake interviews with refugees who have reached out to IRAP for assistance to determine if IRAP can take their case. Students may also participate in the policy team to advocate for policy initiatives benefitting refugees in the United States. 19) A symposium in honor of Larry Yackle

Where: Barristers Hall
What: A symposium in honor of Larry Yackle. The federal courts have long been asked to address fundamental questions about the American political system. The current divisive political climate presents special challenges. In this symposium, noted specialists will discuss illustrations in the fields of constitutional law, civil rights, and immigration policy. Please stop by Barristers Hall for panels and refreshments.

What: At our 5th Annual Recovery Day, we invite lawyers, law students, and judges who are recovering from addictions ranging from substances to compulsive behaviors to join us for a day of fellowship, conversation, and free food. Recovery Day is an unequivocally CONFIDENTIAL EVENT. You can expect your identity in attendance to be kept confidential. Likewise, you will be required to keep the confidence of others in attendance. As the only organization in Massachusetts dedicated to helping lawyers with the personal and professional demands of the practice, we will offer a brief on the recent steps the legal profession has taken to improve the well-being of our lawyers, law students, and judges. We will reflect on the work that's emerged, and discuss how we can all contribute to Growing the Movement for Lawyer Well-Being.
